Anupam Kher: The Applause Entertainment-produced Retake, a moving, and thought-provoking short film has been chosen for its American premiere at the New York Indian Film Festival. The film, which was written and directed by Shweta Basu Prasad, is about a 60-year-old artist who questions his decisions in life and his artistic endeavors after meeting his former lover and buddy during the funeral of his mentor.

The short film will be shown on May 13 at 12:15 PM at Village East by Angelika New York in the Shorts A (Narrative) category. The short film, which stars Anupam Kher, Zarina Wahab, and Danish Husain, is an introspective tale that examines themes of love, grief, and reflection.

The New York Indian Film Festival will host the world premiere of Retake, directed by Shweta Basu Prasad. The short film has contributions from individuals who have won awards, including Ram Sampath, the music composer, Resul Pookutty, a Bafta and Oscar winner, and editor Aarti Bajaj.
